Since the MCAT is a particularly expensive test, it is recommended that you utilize all available free MCAT practice tests and other resources in order to maximize your chances of successfully achieving a high score the first time. Scores are scaled and equated such that all scores have the same meaning relative to each other, regardless of when the test was taken.
Multiple-choice sections are scored based on how many questions were answered correctly. Unanswered questions are scored the same as incorrectly answered questions, so test takers should make sure each question is answered, as there is no penalty for guessing.

Total Score: Total scores are comprised of the sum total of all four section scores. Scores range from lowest to highest , with as a midpoint. Percentile ranks are also provided on your score report. This section of the score report indicates what percentage of test takers scored as good as or lower than the test taker.
